For Distributors and Importers

Working with the Kaldrey desk as a distributor or importer: volumes, documentation, exclusivity questions, and multi-market checks.

Distributors and importers buy differently from stores: larger volumes, more documents, more markets, and longer planning horizons. These notes cover what to settle with the desk early.

Volume planning

Name the volume band in the first message: trial, repeat, or project. Distributor orders usually combine SKUs, so state quantities per SKU and per configuration. Where a combined order crosses a quantity break, ask for pricing at both the split and the combined volume; the comparison is the basis of the plan.

Documentation set

Distributors need the full document set: specification sheets per SKU, written quotes, the sample approval record, the inspection plan and report, and the shipping set with test status. Where certificates exist for a market, the documents travel with the order; certificate numbers are not published on this site. Agree the document list before production so nothing is missing at shipment.

Multi-market checks

An importer serving several markets must check the rules of each: product scope, marking, and any state or national restriction on sale or use. Our state rules page lists the restrictions confirmed from primary sources; a distributor's own counsel confirms the rest. Ship-to locations are requested per order so known restrictions are checked before confirmation.

Exclusivity and territory

Exclusivity, if offered for a market, is set in a written agreement with stated conditions: volume commitments, term, and what happens if volumes are missed. We do not grant verbal exclusivity, and we do not describe a market as reserved before an agreement exists.

After-sales structure

Agree how returns and replacements flow: whether defective units are replaced in the next shipment, credited, or returned. Set the terms in the order agreement, and mirror them in the distributor's own customer policy so the two documents do not contradict.
