For Buyers Outside the United States

The desk serves international buyers, and most of the process is the same anywhere: specification, written quote, sample, production, documents. The differences are in rules, marking, and freight. These notes cover the international-specific points.

Rules in your market

Radar detector rules differ widely between countries: some permit them, some restrict use, some restrict sale, and some treat the category strictly. The desk does not maintain a rule table for every country and does not give legal opinions. Confirm the rules in each market you serve from the current primary source, and tell us the ship-to market with the quote so that any restriction we have confirmed is checked before the order.

Marking and manuals

Confirm per market: the regulatory statements the product and manual must carry, the language of the manual and warnings, and any origin marking requirement. State these in the specification sheet. A manual reprinted after production is a loss; a manual specified before production is a line item.

Power and vehicles

Vehicle electrical systems differ between markets. Confirm the input voltage range of the unit against your market's vehicles, and the plug type for any mains adapter in the box, if one is included at all. Mounting hardware that suits one market's windshields may need a different bracket elsewhere; ask what the factory offers.

Freight

• Agree the trade term for your market and who clears import.
• Confirm carton dimensions and gross weight per SKU for freight quotes.
• Ask the factory to state documents for customs: invoice, packing list, origin statement.

What we confirm before an order

Specification in writing, sample against that specification, inspection plan, and the document set for the shipment. Certificate routes and marks for your market are confirmed with the testing laboratory per order. Everything else on the site stays pending until those confirmations exist.
